SP Concepts Exhaust System for 1996-2016 Harley-Davidson Touring
SP Concepts Exhaust System for 1996-2016 Harley-Davidson Touring
SP Concepts is known for these high-and-tight 2-into-1 full exhaust systems developed for Harley-Davidson Touring motorcycles. Like most 2-into-1 pipes, performance is key. With differently-staged stepped head pipes and different mufflers and cores selected to match the head pipes, SP systems promote exhaust velocity by sweating the details.
- Full stainless steel construction
- TIG-welded
- Header collars are machined of stainless steel
- Accepts 12mm or 18mm oxygen sensors; adapters included
-
Hardware kit includes mount bracket, bolts, speed nuts, and adapters
-
Choose your finish
- Black—satin black high temperature ceramic exhaust coating
- Stainless—brushed and uncoated; will turn varying shades of gold with exposure to the heat of engine exhaust
-
Choose your system length
-
Lane Splitter
- 4" rolled cone muffler with 2 1/4" perforated baffle for lots of torque and maximum volume that's often described as the "raspy" pipe in the SP lineup
- .065" stainless steel head pipes step up from 1 3/4" to 1 7/8" and enter the muffler through a final 2" stepped section
- A solid choice for unmodified engines or engines with light bolt-on power-adders
- Shortest exhaust overall length; lots of bark as a result
-
Big Bore
- 4 1/2" rolled cone muffler with stepped 2 1/4" to 2 1/2" perforated baffle supports the high exhaust flow of large-displacement engines
- Best choice for highly-modified engines
- Shortest exhaust overall length and loudest exhaust; higher compression ratios and increased displacement will both affect sound
- 4 1/2" rolled cone muffler with stepped 2 1/4" to 2 1/2" perforated baffle supports the high exhaust flow of large-displacement engines
-
Turnpike
- 4" rolled cone muffler with 2 1/2" performance-core perforated baffle for lots of torque, and full, deep tone
- Full-length exhaust system provides the mellowest tone and most neighbor-friendly volume, but make no mistake—everyone will still hear you coming
- A great choice for full-dress machines so the bags don't get sooty
-
Lane Splitter

Choose your header style
-
Standard Stepped
- .065" stainless steel head pipes step up from 1 3/4" to 1 7/8" and enter the muffler through 2" sections
- Works Edition
- The same construction materials and design as the Standard header, but bends are created from pie-cut sections that have been hand-TIG-welded for the competition look
- Pro Flo
- Anti-reversion chambers are visually stunning and highly effective
- Dyno-proven
- Reversion can occur when the downward stroke of the piston creates vacuum, causing exhaust pulses to be pulled in the wrong direction; this can be especially problematic with aftermarket cams that have lots of overlap
- Anti-reversion chambers are visually stunning and highly effective
-
Standard Stepped
No matter what system you choose, SP pipes also shed weight when you remove your factory exhaust. And of course, the appearance is really a showstopper. People will stop to look at—and hear—your motorcycle.
The exhaust will accept either 12mm or 18mm oxygen sensors; adapters are included so you can use either OE or aftermarket sensors as required by your tuning setup. Plugs are also included should you have a carbureted motorcycle that doesn't use lambda sensors. The mounting bracket and hardware are included. Exhaust spring clips are not included; they can be purchased separately. Exhaust gaskets are not included and should be replaced every time an exhaust system is removed; they also can be purchased separately.
When picking an exhaust type, let your modifications be your guide. If you're going to stick mostly with bolt-on engine upgrades to stock engine internals, the Turnpike or Lane Splitter are the correct exhausts to select. If you're considering aggressive head work, a radical camshaft, or big increases in bore or stroke, you may want to consider the Big Bore instead. On the fence? Definitely err on small side.
